Marketing Copy
One-liner
Each investment offer has a short bit of marketing copy we call a one-liner that quickly explains the product or service. This is used throughout the platform on cards and on the investment offer page. The one-liner should be no more than 140 characters long and communicate what the investment offer is about.
Example: “Aiming to redefine sports equipment for active people with disabilities.” (Exero).
Short description
A short introduction of the company, your product or service, etc. Roughly three sentences long.
Example: “GRIM fights food waste by feeding ugly and surplus organic fruits and vegetables back into the food system. We source the produce from farms and sell it to private consumers in the form of a food box subscription. Our ambition is to become the #1 platform for ugly and surplus produce.”
Investment opportunity introduction
An introduction to the company, the problem/solution, team and why now is the right time to come on board as an investor.
Lead investor
Name, occupation and a bio of the lead investor of the round. Who are they and why are they qualified to lead the round.
Lead investor quote
A quote from the lead on why they are investing (check with our compliance).
Example:
“Unconventional Ventures is a proud backer of GRIM. What Carolin and Petra have accomplished over the last 18 months is unbelievable. I have been following them ever since they started. It is the type of team that anyone would be lucky to support and follow from the very beginning. Food waste is a massive contributor to climate change and Petra and Carolin have found a unique, scalable way to address it.”
– Thea Messel, Unconventional Ventures
Images
Important: we need the below (all required) images for the investment offer available as early as possible. This gives us time to edit and adjust the images if needed, prepare different sizes and formats used on the platform, set up ad templates etc.
Company logos
The logo or logos of the company or product that’s the subject of the investment offer. The logo will be used as avatars throughout the platform on the investment offer card, in tables and lists, in update feeds etc. and also as rectangular tile images on our website.
We prefer the logos as vector files as .ai, .eps or .svg files; or as high resolution bitmap images as .png (preferred) or . jpg files.
If relevant, we also need to receive any guidelines to how the logos can be used.
Tip: If the company has a bespoke version of the logo used as a Facebook or Twitter avatar that people might already be familiar with, this might be a good version to use on Fundy as well for brand recognition purposes.
Cover image
Each investment offer needs a cover image. This image will be the main image used throughout the platform on the investment offer card and news-cards.
Requirements:
- .jpg or .png
- at least 1920x1080px in size
Tip: A good cover image shows the product in an attractive, clear, easy to understand way. It’s best if it shows people using the product.
Because the cover image is used in different settings with other elements sometimes covering parts of it, it’s recommended to use the safe area template when cropping the image or positioning content (i.e. logos or slogans) on it.
A transparent PNG image you can use in your image editor or choice.

General marketing images
We need at least two images usable in a wide & square format showing the product or service of the company, preferably more. Having more images to choose from lets us avoid repetition when we use these images in a variety of different formats and settings such as:
- Online ads
- Social media posts
- Email newsletters
- Youtube thumbnails
Tip: Great images show the product and people using the product.
Important: Images for online ads need to be adjusted and we need to allow time for them to be cleared by Facebook/Google, this is why having them ready early is important.
Marketing channels
During the pre-public phase of your investment offer, we encourage you to regularly inform your potential investors about the progress.
We will send an email newsletter to all our verified investors upon the public launch of your funding round, describing the business and listing key investment offer details.
Social Media
We publish posts on our social media channels on certain milestones like launching, important updates, the closing of the round and when it becomes tradable on The Marketplace. We encourage fundraising companies to put their social media to work towards promoting the investment offer to your followers.
PR
Getting earned media during your funding round is essential, but can also be very tricky. We will work with you and our favourite PR agencies to help you create and execute a media plan.
Websites
We will display your investment offer prominently on our homepage and encourage you to promote it on your own website as well. Whether with a banner linking directly to your investment offer page on Fundy or by creating a dedicated landing page for potential investors, it’s up to you.
